The day after I finished Ashley's quilt, I was on such a high that I was really motivated to get going. I did this! Yep, that is every single piece of the quilt cut and ready to sew! Aren't you so proud of me?
My son is a big fan of blue and also of simplicity. Some of you may recognize from the colors alone whose design this is. Can you guess?
Day 2 requires sewing 22 A's and 22 Cs together to create 44 HST's
Only 41 more to go. UGH! Thank goodness for Audiobooks while I'm pressing these open. In order to not let the tedious parts slow me down, I have decided that I'm going to set a goal of working at least 15 minutes every day on this project and if I get bored doing that, I give myself permission to work on a different project. Or . . . if I'm motivated to keep forging ahead on this after 15 minutes, I will!
Have you guessed what pattern this is yet?
You've made a start. Simple can be fun and effective, especially if it's in blue. Good luck with your goal of 15 minutes a day.
ReplyDeleteIndeed I am proud of you Janice, now just keep it up and soon we'll all be seeing a flimsy! I have no idea what pattern it is.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know exactly what the pattern is! But only because you told me :-). I can’t believe you have made such wonderful progress already, keep up the good work, and yes! I’m very proud of you.
ReplyDeleteI think you deserve a huge pat on the back! Making so many HSTs at a time can be a killer...all that trimming. I have a guess at the pattern but I'm not sure. Three shades of blue makes me think Quilting Jetgirl...Wayward Transparency?
ReplyDeleteGo, Janice, go! My guess is the same as Tish's, I saw the solids in shades of the same color and immediately thought of Yvonne at Quilting Jetgirl.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors! It sounds like fun to surprise your son with a design he has forgotten all about. I also like your idea of giving yourself permission to work on other things when you need a break!
ReplyDeleteWell, I see Amanda Jean's book on your table, so I'm guessing it's a pattern from her book. What audio book are you listening to? I've been enjoying books by Ann Tatlock recently. Great job keeping the MOMENTUM going!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what pattern it is, but I love those blues! 15 minutes a day is a great goal. You'll be surprised how much you get done that way! I'm currently making 120 HSTs and can only handle a little at a time. Thank goodness I got a BlocLoc ruler recently. It's a real game changer!!
ReplyDeleteYou've made a great start Janice! I would be guessing at one of Yvonne's designs as well with those colours but I'm second guessing it now since eagle-eyed Nancy spotted the No Scrap etc book on your table. At this rate it won't take too long to find out and I'm wondering if you will be able to keep it a secret anyway ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! I operate quite the same way! By the time I manage to gift a promise, they’ve forgotten all about it, and it becomes a pleasant surprise. You’re making great headway all ready! Good luck with your daily goals! I try that, but it seldom sticks. Can’t wait for the pattern reveal. I have my ideas, but truly, I’m stumped.
