About Me

Hi,

I'm Janice and I've been happily married to a very talented home builder for 29 years, and we have two boys and a girl, a beautiful daughter-in-law and two grand daughters.  It still feels weird to think I'm a grandma.  I don't feel like a grandma.  And I'm short.  (grin)

I work full time for a university so I'm not a very prolific producer of quilts YET since I can only do this in the evenings and on weekends.  Although I've been piecing for a while, I only recently learned how to do the quilting part.

And here are my favorite finishes so far . . .

I needed a quick picture and hadn't yet finished the binding so it looks a little weird on the right and bottom.

Made this one for my middle granddaughter

And this one for my oldest granddaughter

and this one for my youngest granddaughter.

I started this blog because I realized how much I enjoyed reading other's adventures in this quilt creating process and thought it would be fun to document my own journey.  It will be interesting to look back years from now and see how far I've come.

You can read more about how my adventure began in my very first post.

P.S.  My family has grown since I wrote this "About Me".  Here is the update!  My daughter on the right there has actually had a baby as well so I'm behind on getting family pictures done!

  1. Your daughter is a most beautiful girl, she obviously takes after her Mom.

  2. Hi Janice. My name is Susan. I live just north of Idaho Falls. I don't know how close that is to you. I have a lot of old quilting mags that I am practically giving away at my next garage sale.I have been quilting for 50+ years. If you are going to be in the area in the next two weeks, let me know and you can see if you want any. I have a bunch of other crafty things, too. Do you do counted cross stitch? email me at sueovard@ida.net if you are interested, or just want to talk.

  3. What a great picture, Janice. It's nice to put a face to the name. I'm glad you've started documenting your maker's journey!
