Here's a closeup view.
That blank corner is just screaming for an orange block don't you think?
Do I hafta wait for the RSC color to be orange to make one?
I certainly hope not because I just couldn't do it!
I was planning on making a bigger quilt, but it kind of looks good the way it is!
Kind of small though right now, even for a baby quilt. Hmm.
Would love to hear ideas on how to finish it off and make it a little larger.
And I did get the borders sewn on my RSC red project. And I'm so excited that a red print fabric that I bought at a yard sale just a few weeks ago is going to work for the back. Yahoo!!
I really enjoyed using up a bunch of red scraps for this project and have been fun watching all the other RSC projects in the works.

Quilting is More Fun Than Housework
With your orange geese done you are ahead of the game!!
ReplyDeleteGreat scrap buster. Is there a pattern or your design? You are good with color selections. Lets see a black and white block thrown in. I think you have some scraps.
ReplyDeleteI think the orange is perfect!
ReplyDeleteSo so beautiful! I love the scrappy look, and your variation of values makes these blocks sparkle!
ReplyDeleteFun block! If you like it how it is, it could be a baby quilt. Or if you're enjoying the on-point look on your design wall, you could add a large white triangle to each side for a big square-in-a-square type of finish.
ReplyDeleteI *love* the geese migration blocks! If you want it bigger, why not leave it on point and do some sort of ombre white/grey/black corners?
ReplyDeleteYour geese migration blocks are so pretty! Wow - you do beautiful work! Lately I seem to be in a "keep it simple" mood: I would keep it on point, adding the triangle mentioned in other comments, add a border and finish off with a scrappy binding.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you chose, it will be gorgeous and cheerful!
Love those scrappy RSC blocks... I vote to make the quilt larger by 3 times! LOL It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I see orange is the color for August. You are ahead of the game :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Super fun...I just love geese!
ReplyDeleteI love how your red and turquoise piece is turning out! SO fun and vibrant. And too funny that you made an orange block and it ended up being August's color! I had the opposite happen to me: I convinced myself that dark blue was the next color and made half my blue blocks yesterday. Doh!
ReplyDeleteI've been loving seeing these popping up on Instagram and they're looking great all together!Orange was definitely a good pick for that corner. As for finishing - maybe a border of larger geese? inner and outer white with squares or piano key in the middle? I'm sure you'll come up with something.
ReplyDeleteYou are way ahead of me with the migrating geese. It might help if I actually worked on them, lol! This fall I shall. I'd just keep that red quilt as small as it is. It looks great with the border.
ReplyDeleteLove your rainbow of blocks. It’s such a fun way to use lots of scraps. I made one with light and darker versions of each color. Also used black sashing. You could do a border as well. Enjoy the process!
ReplyDeleteLovely Geese Migration blocks. Good for you making the orange block because your head was singing out to you. Love your red and turquoise quilt, so vibrant.
ReplyDeleteLove your geese migration blocks! I may need to borrow your idea.
ReplyDeleteoooh lalala the colors! And the designs... love them great job
ReplyDeleteLove your scrappy red quilt and your Geese Migration blocks. Finishing off your orange one puts you a month ahead.
ReplyDeleteSuper fun! Every time I see these blocks, I think I want to make some! And didn’t orange turn out to be the August color afterall? Your scrappy red quilt is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Janice. I suppose you could sash the blocks (in black??) and make it a big bigger that way? Or could you add some sort of black and white block and alternate it with the scrappy blocks? How big is it at this point?
ReplyDeleteLove this! Maybe a border of rainbow colored blocks? Or rainbow stripes?
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks! This is Snoodles from the Pets show....the post before the one you commented on is the linky party with all the cute pets! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHey, Lady! Haven't seen anything from you in a while. Hope all is well and that you're so busy stitching that you haven't had time to blog :)
